Beard talks about his recruitment

Jamaal Beard, the 6-foot-3, 175-pound shooting guard from Memorial High School in Fresno, Calif., couldn't be happier with where his recruitment stands at this time. A number of high majors programs have already checked in on Beard, and he intends to visit several schools in particular.
"Everything is going okay right now," said Beard. Georgia Tech, Oregon, Marquette and Miami-FL are some of the programs that came to visit me at my school."

Beard indicated that he would like to take a number of official visits before making a decision about his future, but he also stated that he might not need to take all five official visits.
"I have been thinking about taking some visits next fall, but I don't know if I will need to take all five visits," said Beard. "Georgia Tech, Oregon, Miami-FL and Marquette are the schools that I might possibly visit. I do know that I definitely want to visit Georgia Tech and Miami-FL."
Despite the fact that the AAU summer circuit has been going on since the beginning of April, Beard has not yet participated in any events with his EBO teammates.
Beard does not yet know when he will play in his first event.
"So far this summer, I have been working out and focusing on school and my academics," said Beard. "I have not played in an AAU tournament yet, and I really don't know when that will happen.
"I hope to start playing as soon as I can, but my main focus right now is working out and concentrating on school," he added.
