Baylor lands physical SF

At the end of the day, Ishmail Wainright will end up playing a little closer to home in the Big 12.
The native of Kansas City -- and one time Missouri commitment -- is attending Rockville (Md.) Montrose Christian but will be coming back to Big 12 country for his college ball. Late Thursday night, Wainright committed to the Baylor Bears.

Ranked No. 50 nationally in the class of 2013, Wainright is one of the most physically impressive players in the class. He packs 225 pounds of muscle onto his 6-foot-5 frame, loves contact and is capable of playing much bigger than his size thanks to his athleticism and 7-foot-3 wingspan.
Because of his physical gifts, Wainright is one of the premier defenders in 2013. He has the quickness to stay with wings and his power and length allow him to defend post players if needed.
Offensively, Wainright isn't a guy who will force anything. He takes what the defense gives him, is a very good finisher at the hoop and is a well above average passer.
A four-star prospect, Wainright joins a class that already includes another four-star prospect in power forward Johnathan Motley. This weekend the Bears hope add size as they host four-star big men Dominic Woodson and Yanick Moreira.
