The journey from possibly never playing basketball again to playing in the Big 12 has come to a conclusion for four-star shooting guard Tyson Jolly.

The 6-foot-4 guard from Oklahoma City who has been spending a prep school year at Delray Beach (Fla.) Elev8 Academy told Rivals.com that he has committed to play for Scott Drew and the Baylor Bears.

Originally committed to California, Jolly had planned to visit Oklahoma State this weekend but he's all done.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

"I'm not taking anymore visits," Jolly told Rivals.com. "I'm committing to Baylor."

"It was a great opportunity for me to come in and make a impact right off. The players were great, coaches were great, the school is legit and my family can watch my play."

RIVALS' REACTION

The path Jolly has taken from lightly recruited junior, to kid who faced a grave medical situation and survived multiple blood clots on his lungs to accepting a scholarship at Baylor has been impressive to watch.

A top 100 player in the class of 2015 who had committed to Cal, Jolly went to prep school this year and opened up his recruitment during the winter. Because of his toughness, ability to get to the rim and perimeter defense he is capable of playing he was an instant target of high majors.

Baylor was looking for a hard edged wing with some scoring punch and Jolly should fit the bill. He's going to need to improve a bit as a jump shooter, but his effort and will to win aren't likely to ever be questioned.

Jolly joins a class that already includes four-star forward Mark Vital and three-star junior college combo forward Nuni Omot.
