Baylor Has Edge For John Ofoegbu

HEMPSTEAD, NEW YORK -- John Ofoegbu, a 6-8, 207-pound forward from Taft High School in San Antonio, Texas, is showcasing his skills with the Texas Blue Chips at the Three Stripe Classic at Hofstra University.
Ofoegbu has looked sharp thus far here at this ADIDAS sponsored event on Long Island. He scores most of his points inside and is very effective with his back to the basket. Ofoegbu scored 14 points last night in the Texas Blue Chips win.

Texas Blue Chips AAU head coach Mitch Malone says Baylor has an edge right now in the recruiting process. But there are other serious schools involved with this young man too. "John is also considering Houston and Boston College," Malone said. "But right now Baylor had the edge."
This would be an excellent get for Baylor if they were to land Ofoegbu, who works hard and bangs with big bodies inside. John does a lot of the grunt work for the Texas Blue Chips too.
Ofoegbu averaged 15 points and six rebounds per game last season at Taft High School. We will continue to monitor his progress here at the Three Stripe Classic.
