Adding Gathers, who is a rugged double-double machine, to a class with Austin, point guard L.J. Rose and power forward Chad Rykhoek moves Baylor's class to No. 6 in the 2012 national team recruiting rankings.
Baylor sits behind a current top five of Arizona, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina State and Michigan.
The Big East is the most represented conference with six teams in the rankings.
Right behind the Big East is the ACC with five teams, and the Big Ten and Big 12 have four teams each in the rankings.
Conference-USA, Pac-12 and the SEC have two representatives each.
