Bay looking to take some visits

Kalvin Bay, the 6-foot-2, 170-pound point guard from Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe, Ariz., is ready to take a step forward in his recruitment. After conducting in-school visits with a number of high-major programs, the three-star prospect is ready to start taking some official visits.
"Cal-Northridge, Southern California and Iowa are some of the schools that have been by to see Kalvin," said Marcos de Niza head coach Dave Stark. "Coaches from USC and Iowa have already been by three times to watch Kalvin practice, so I can tell you that those two schools are extremely interested.

"Kalvin is taking an official visit to Cal-Northridge on September 30," he added. "I also know that an official visit to Southern California will take place during the weekend of October 15. I also know that Coach Tim Floyd is coming out again next Tuesday."
Aside from the aforementioned programs, Coach Stark indicated that several other high-major programs have shown an interest in Bay. As it stands right now, a number of other programs are planning to stop by and watch Bay during an open gym session.
"I know that St. Mary's is planning to come by and watch Kalvin next week," said Stark. "Schools like California, Oregon and Louisville have also expressed an interest in Kalvin. I really do not know if he has conducted any in-home visits with any of the schools yet. Again, I need to talk to Kalvin to see if any schools have stopped by his house."
According to Coach Stark, the recruiting process has been enjoyable from start to finish. Having so many programs express an interest in Bay has been quite enjoyable for player and coach.
"The entire process has been very enjoyable," he said. "Having different coaches from around the country come in and watch Kalvin has been great. I can also tell you that the other players on the court step up their play and the level of competition becomes more intense. I have really enjoyed talking to the different coaches that have stopped by the gym to watch Kalvin."
