Brandon Bass, a bruising 6-8, 234-pound power forward from Capitol High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, will be working out today -- the last day of the July evaluation period.
And Bass will have many college coaches on hand to watch him. He certainly has emerged as one of the top players at his position at the ABCD camp.
Bass is a wide body blessed with good athleticism and an excellent frame to work with. He runs the floor well and is quick off his feet.
Bass has heard from LSU, Mississippi State, Cinncinati, UConn, Miami(FL), Missouri, USC, UNLV, Illinois, and Arkansas. All have offered except Illinois, Miami, and Arkansas. Most of these schools will be on hand to watch him practice, according to a source close to Bass.
Brandon, one of the most personable and well-mannered kids we came into contact with on the circuit this summer, averaged 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 8.5 blocks this past high school season.
It's likely that more schools will offer Bass when they are able to contact him tomorrow via the phone.
