Brandon Bass, a bruising 6-8, 234-pound power forward from Capitol High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, told us he plans on first taking the SAT on October 12th and then taking some more official visits. "I am thinking about visiting Kentucky," Bass said. "They have a great winning program and the style of play is something I like."
Bass, who has already taken trips to LSU and Miami of Florida, also lists Cincinnati, Mississippi State, Connecticut, and Southern California. "I would also like to visit Connecticut," Bass said. "I don't know when these visits will be set up but I am interested in taking them."
Bass has also spoken about visiting Connecticut for their Midnight Madness weekend. Bass emerged as one of the top players at his position at the ABCD camp. He possesses a wide body and is blessed with good athleticism. He has an excellent frame and runs the floor well. Brandon is also quick off his feet. Brandon averaged 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 8.5 blocks this past high school season. "I thought about waiting until the spring," Bass said. "But I am not sure about that.
"Playing style and playing right away will help me make up my mind. All of the coaches told me that I would play right away and I like all of the playing styles of all the teams on my list."
