Barrett Picks Ohio U

Delvar Barrett, a 6-7, 280 pound power forward from Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Mich., has committed to Ohio University.
Schoolcraft Head Coach Carlos Briggs informed JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com about Barrett's decision on Friday morning.

Earlier this week, Briggs told us that Barrett was also considering Western Illinois and Western Michigan. So he picked the Bobcats over these two programs.
A native of Detroit, Barrett averaged nine points and five rebounds per game for Schoolcraft. He shot 63 percent from the field.
Barrett's career has been sidetracked by family issues ever since he left Bridgton Academy three years ago for Division I Toledo. He spent just one semester at Toledo, and was expected to enroll at Independence C.C. in Kansas in the fall of 2000.
That never happened, and Barrett wound up at Schoolcraft instead, where he has enjoyed a resurgence under Coach Briggs.
