Barraza taking his time

Several high-major schools have expressed an interest in Louis Barraza, the 6-foot-4, 180-pound combo guard from Trevor Browne High School in Phoenix, Ariz. However, one school in particular is making a strong push for Barraza, and plans to stop by the gym in the immediate future to watch him on the court.
"The season is going okay," said Barraza. "I have been having some problems with my ankle, but I should be good to go very soon. We have an overall record of 7-7 right now, but all of our losses have been by seven points or less.

"I am currently averaging 18-points, 9.5 rebounds and five assists per game," he added. "I am shooting 55 percent from the field and 39 percent from behind the three-point line. I am happy with my play so far this year, but there is always room for improvement."
While Barraza has not spent too much time thinking about his recruitment, he indicated that several schools are interested in his services. One school is planning to come down to Arizona to watch Barraza play and others will likely to do the same in the future.
"Well, Montana is showing a lot of interest in me," said Barraza. "They are coming out to watch one of my games in two weeks. Oregon, Wyoming and some other schools have been sending me mail. Montana is definitely showing the most interest right now.
"I would really like to take all five official visits before I make a decision on a school," he added. "I think that it would be a good idea for me to take advantage of that. I do know that I will visit Montana, but I have not made a decision about what other schools to visit."
