Barnes ready to do some damage in SEC

Chris Barnes said he wanted to start his own legacy in college. On Wednesday, he decided to start that process. The Rivals150 forward from Riverdale (Ga.) High School verbally committed to a SEC school.
After visiting Georgia, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Wichita State and Tennessee, Barnes thought over his options and committed to the home state Georgia Bulldogs. Barnes said he wanted to find a place where he could make a name for himself while in college.

"That was on my mind the whole time," Barnes said. "I wanted to find a place where I could build a legacy.
"I felt at home there on my visit. The coaches, the players, the staff, everyone made the school feel like home. I think that was made it for me."
Barnes said he is looking forward to lining up with Jeremy Price, an early UGA pledge, down low for the Bulldogs. Together, Barnes said he can see a great future.
"We'll do some damage," Barnes said. "I'm telling you. Just watch. I have a good feeling about that. Plus you add Mike Mercer, Billy Humphrey and all the guys they have coming back. We'll do some damage."
The Bulldogs have a done a great job of keeping the in-state talent home. Along with Price, Barnes joins Dunwoody point guard Zac Swansey, who committed to UGA earlier in the month.
"I'm looking forward to putting Georgia back on track. With all of the players we have coming in, we should be alright."
