Barber Kicks Off Visits

If you can’t catch Korvotney Barber on the phone, you can usually bet he’s visiting the University of Georgia. The 6-foot-6, 200-pound forward from Manchester (Ga.) High School took his first official visit over the weekend as he visited the Bulldogs. It was his fourth time to Athens, but he insists that doesn’t give the SEC an edge.
Barber, the No. 34 ranked player in the class of 2005 by Rivals.com, visited UGA on Saturday and Sunday. He has seen the campus three time unofficially but last weekend was the first time he saw the campus so closely.

“It was good,” Barber said. “I had meetings with the athletic director and some academic people. They talked to me about the program and other stuff like that. It was good.”
Barber was hosted by guard Levi Stukes and he attended the football game with the team as the Bulldogs ran over Georgia Southern. On the basketball side of things, Barber said the individual workouts were educational. Even with the numerous trips, Barber is still in the decision making process.
“I like Georgia. The school is cool. The staff is cool but I still need to take my other visits to get a feel about everyone else,” Barber said.
Auburn is the next stop on Sept. 18. He’s already visited with the Tigers unofficially. Florida State is next on Sept. 25 and then Tennessee on Oct. 2. Barber will conclude his trips when he visits Kentucky on Oct. 15.
“I want to feel comfortable at my school,” Barber said. “That’s what I’m looking for now.”
