Barbee lands Cothron

The hiring of Tony Barbee is paying off dividends for Auburn recruiting. The Tigers locked up a second Huntsville, Ala., native with the commitment of Luke Cothron.
First Barbee scored three-star forward Josh Langford, who is from Huntsville. Now he has a four-star forward in Cothron.

"I have a great relationship with Coach Barbee and really like him," said Cothron, who attends Red Springs (N.C.) Flora Macdonald Academy. "I know he can get me to the next level with the way he will develop me and push me.
"Also, the campus has a family atmosphere, the new arena is nice and the academics are good."
At 6-foot-8, 210-pound, Cothron has inside/outside capabilities on offense. This past season he averaged 30 points and 13 rebounds per game.
Cothron chose Auburn over Tennessee while also receiving recruiting interest from a number of other schools.
Cothron, the No. 45 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, will sign a Letter of Intent in a couple weeks with his family in Huntsville.
