Bama Leads But ...

One can see why Alabama has been all over wide body James Lang for a while now. And one can also understand why so many other top programs are now knocking at Lang's recruiting door.
Lang spent his first day of the ABCD camp overpowering his defenders. In fact, his pretty scoop shot just seconds before the buzzer went off gave his team an exciting victory. Lang has convinced us he is a top 15-20 player and may be rated too low in this category already.

"I am just trying very hard to work on all parts of my game this summer," Lang told us after his winning shot. "I want to work on all my skills."
Lang said Alabama still leads but he does want to take some visits in the Fall. "I am interested in Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgetown, Louisville, and Cincinnati too," Lang said. "I want to take some trips once my summer is over and then make my decision. Right now I don't plan on making a summer decision."
There were plenty of coaches on hand to watch Lang play yesterday. RivalsHoops.com spotted coaches from Louisville and North Carolina watching Lang's impressive play. "Alabama still leads," Lang said. "But I want something to compare it to."
Lang, 6-10, 305-pounds, knows how to utilize his wide frame in pushing defenders away from his body as he goes in for his interior moves. Lang will be a tremendous boost to any program that lands him. He has the ability to post up opponents and manhandle them in the paint.
Lang delivers pain to those who try to push him off the low blocks. He will likely land in the NBA if he continues to improve his offensive moves in the low post. Lang doesn't mind making his living in the paint, a rarity in high school and college basketball.
