Bama big man ready to rebound in ACC

Another one bites the dust. Johnnie Lett, a 6-foot-8, 215-pound power forward from Rain High School in Mobile, Ala., made his decision on Saturday. The three-star prospect is taking his big body and attention to defense to the ACC.
"I'm headed to Virginia," an ecstatic Lett said on Saturday afternoon. "I really like the coaching staff and the team. I felt the most comfortable with them."

Lett made an official visit to Charlottesville two weeks ago. While there, he said he had a chance to bond with the squad and UVa assistant coach Steve Seymour, who served as Lett's primary recruiter.
"I can't wait to get there and make a huge impact," Lett said. "I know I can help the team on the boards.
"Coach (Dave) Leitao is a pretty good coach and I know he's going to go hard every game. He's only going to help me. Right now I'm more of a defensive-minded player but I know he'll be able to help me get better on the offensive end."
Lett is a solid get for the Cavs. He attended the NBA Players Association camp and the ABCD camp this summer. That's where he had a chance to get an idea of the level of competition he'll play against in the ACC.
"I'm excited to play against everyone in the ACC," Lett said. "That's pretty much why I'm going to Virginia. I want to play against the best."
Lett picked the Cavs over interest from Alabama, Georgia and Miami. He rounds out a solid three-man class for the ACC school. Lett joins Jamil Tucker, a skilled wing forward from Gary, Ind., and Solomon Tat, a muscular combo guard from Nigeria who is playing at Community Christian in suburban Atlanta.
