Baltimores J.J. Outlaw Headed to Nova

J.J. Outlaw, a 5-9, 182 pound shooting guard from Mount St. Joseph's High School in Baltimore, signed a football scholarship with Division I-AA Villanova, the school announced on Wednesday.
Outlaw intends to play both sports for the Wildcats. Other schools that pursued Outlaw in one or boh sports included Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Bowling Green, James Madison, Central Connecticut, East Carolina, Manhattan, Robert Morris, Towson and Coastal Carolina. His only official visit was to Villanova.

Outlaw was named to the Baltimore Sun's All-Metro basketball second team as a junior as well as to this fall's All-Metro football first team. He played this past summer for Joe Connelly's Baltimore Blue AAU team. (Joe is an assistant coach at Towson Catholic.)
Outlaw yesterday led the Gaels to a 71-62 victory over Archbishop Spalding, which was ranked at number 2 last week by the Sun. Mount St. Joe's was ranked at number 8.
Outlaw scored a team-high 19 points, including eight straight free throws in the fourth quarter. Senior Landy Thompson led Spalding with a game-best 24 points.
Did You Know?: Robert Morris College, a Pittsburgh-area school and a member of the Northeast Conference, is now Robert Morris University. The Coraopolis campus is the home base for Howard Garfinkle's Five Star Pittsburgh Basketball Camp which this year will run from June 29th through August 1st.
