The judge reached a decision Thursday in the court case filed by Marshall Strickland to allow him to play at South Carroll High School this season. The judge decided that MPSSAA's initial finding was likely to be upheld and therefore dissolved the temporary injunction that had permitted the Inidana-bound senior to play two games this season.
The ineligibility finding has been appealed to Dr. Nancy S. Grasmick, the state superintendent of schools, who could decide by December 24th, according to newspaper reports. (ed - guess someone will get a Christmas gift, and someone will get virtual coal)

Strickland signed with Indiana Univerity of the Big Ten Conference during the National Letter of Intent early signing period last month.

The Baltimore Sun named Kevin Steenberge the newspaper's male Athlete of the Week. Steenberge, who signed with Richmond of the Atlantic 10, averaged a triple double in three games last week, registering 21 points, 19 rebounds and 10 blocks.

Annapoplis High School's boys basketball coach John Brady is doing double duty. Brady, 54, is believed to be the first in the state to coach boys and girls varsity basketball teams simultaneously.
Last night he coached his first of at least 18 doubleheaders this season. Both the boys and girls won taking their combined record to 8-0 for the 2001-02 season.
