Bacons offer list continues to grow

MORE: Class of 2015 Rivals150
Bradenton (Fl.) IMG Academy junior Dwayne Bacon is off to a hot start to his junior season. The four-star prospect is putting up big numbers in the scoring column, but he's also adjusting to a new position and having early success.

"This season has been going pretty well so far," Bacon said. "I've been playing well. Before we came here [to City of Palms], I had a 40 point game. I'm at point guard now, so I still need to distribute too and I'm working on that."
The recruiting process is starting to heat up for Bacon. He's rapidly approaching 30 offers after recently receiving a pair of high-major offers.
"I just recently got offers from Georgetown and Auburn. I have 28 offers now, so it's been pretty good so far," Bacon said. "I probably talk to Georgetown, Louisville, Florida State, and USC the most right now out of all those schools. I don't really have any favorites yet. I'm just waiting to get out and take my visits to see what all these schools have to offer and go from there."
The home state Florida State Seminoles jumped on Bacon early and will be a major player in his recruitment.
"I love Florida State because it's in Tallahassee. I actually have family in that area," Bacon revealed. "I went there for the football game when they played Miami and saw everything up there. I love Coach CY [Charlton Young] and Coach Hamilton. Those are my guys."
A recent offer has put the Georgetown Hoyas firmly in the mix of schools that could potentially sign Bacon in the 2015 class.
"Georgetown is a great school," Bacon said. "My girlfriend is actually committed there. They have been on me a lot lately. I feel like I could go there and develop into a pro because of their program and how they do things."
The reigning national champion Louisville Cardinals caught Bacon's attention by having head coach Rick Pitino in attendance for an important game earlier this season.
"Louisville is a great program. I love Coach Pitino and Coach Balado. I talk to them a lot and they watched me play at a tournament not too long ago. Having the head coach sit there at half-court for one of our big games was cool. They have been there through everything I've been through."
As for a decision, Bacon likely won't be picking a school any time soon. Expect a late summer decision from the 27th overall prospect in the 2015 Rivals150.
"I'm not sure when I'm going to commit yet. It will probably be after the travel circuit in July, maybe sometime in August," Bacon said. "I'm going to base my decision off playing time, the program, the education, and I'll sit down and talk to my mom and see what she thinks too."
