Backcourt Cummings together for Temple

One of the priorities for Temple this fall was to land a point guard. This weekend, the Owls had one on campus and they didn't let him get away. Saturday, during his official visit, Will Cummings pulled the trigger and will play for Fran Dunphy's program.
Hailing from Jacksonville (Fla.) Providence, the six footer carried a reputation as a defensive stopper into the summer. By the end, he's emerged as a prime scoring threat as well.

"We knew Will would be a solid point guard and a game changer defensively," Cummings summer coach Tom Topping of Nike Team Florida told Rivals.com. "We did not expect that he would also carry our team offensively at time."
Quick, tough and armed with a jumper that is good to 20 feet, Cummings can make defenders pay if they back off of him. He's also more than comfortable running a team and doesn't make many mistakes.
With his commitment, the Owls have now grabbed Nike Team Florida players in back to back years after nabbing big man Anthony Lee last year. Among the others who were interested were Murray State, Northeastern, Boston College, Old Dominion, Jacksonville, Central Florida and others.
"Will received as much recruiting attention as any player we've ever had," said Topping. "He had a difficult decision to make and Temple won a very tough recruiting battle for a good player."
