Jimmy Tobias, a 6-4, 185 pound shooting guard from Dillard H.S. in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., has some major recruiting interest heading into the summer.
The younger brother of UAB signee Brandon, Jimmy said he has been offered scholarships thus far by South Florida and Auburn. In addition, Florida State, Syracuse, UNC-Wilmington and Central Florida have also expressed some interest.
A fine slashing athlete with a streaky stroke from beyond the three point arc, Tobias acquitted himself quite well this past weekend at the Rumble in the Bronx Tournament, where he led Team Breakdown to the championship game.
At Dillard this past season, Tobias averaged 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals per contest. He said he has a 2.4 GPA and took the SAT for the first time on June 1.
Tobias has a busy summer ahead, which will include stops at the NBA Players Association Camp in Richmond, the Nike All-American Camp and the Five Star basketball camp.
In addition to playing with Team Breakdown, Tobias also competes with the Coast to Coast program.
