Aubin Scott May Wait Till Spring

Aubin Scott, a 6-1, 170-pound combo guard from Hempstead High School in New York, plays for the Long Island Panthers AAU team. Scott competed yesterday for the Panthers at the Connecticut Select tournament.

overshadowed this summer in the presence of the Sumpters and Frasers, not to mention teammate Daryl Hill's emergence onto the national scene. Hill was with the Milford Academy team yesterday.
Scott is a combo guard whose game is reminiscent of another Hempstead native: Sixer guard Speedy Claxton. Scott is explosive off the dribble with a quick first step. He moves well without the ball and displayed good range when we saw him. He garnered a reputation as a ball-hawk defensively this summer as a smothering
on-the-ball presence.
Scott averaged 17 points and nine assists for a Hempstead program that quietly has churned out a handful of quality Division I players the past few years, among them Rhode Island's Tavorris Bell and Villanova's Eric Ferguson.
"I've been hearing from Howard, Central Connecticut, Sacred Heart, and the University of New Orleans. Howard and Sacred Heart have offered. New Orleans has been showing a lot of interest, calling and sending mail."
Scott toured the Sacred Heart campus while competing at the AAU tournament. Scott will visit Howard next weekend, October 13th. "I would probably say Howard is the leade," Scott said. "I want to be comfortable with a school. "I might decide late, and wait it out."
Scott is a player whose talents may have been
overshadowed this summer by his high-profile teammates. He would be a great catch for a mid-major program.
