Atkins Names A Leader

Tariq Atkins, a 6-3, 185-pound wing guard/wing forward from St. Raymond's High School in the Bronx, participated in the ABCD camp and the Adidas Three Stripes Tournament with the New York Ravens this week.
Atkins was a utility-type for Coach Gary DeCesare this past season, a guy that could snatch a rebound, hit from mid to long range, or slash. He and fellow wing Louie McCroskey gave DeCesare a pair of versatile bookends who could attack the glass and play on the perimeter.

Atkins has fielded interest from Seton Hall, Bostob College, Drexel, Syracuse, and Iona. Seton Hall, Drexel, and Iona have offered.
"I like Seton Hall the best," said Atkins.
Atkins plans on taking some unofficial visits by the end of the summer.
Tariq, who averaged 13 points and 7 rebounds at St. Ray's this past season, is competing this week at the sanctioned Bronx Hoop Fest at St. Raymond's. He will paritcipate in the Las Vegas Big Time Tournament with the New York Ravens, as well as the Empire State Games in Syracuse.
Atkins, a native of Queens, told us that he is not sure about his academic average. He will take the SAT in October.
