Atkins Has Two Favorites

Tariq Atkins, a hustling 6'3'' 180 pound shooting guard/small forward from St. Raymond's High School in The Bronx, NY, has a Big East school and a handful of mid-majors keeping watch as the fall approaches.
Atkins has been offered by Seton Hall, Iona, Drexel, and St. Peter's. He plans on visiting all four schools officially. Tariq trekked up to New Rochelle for an unofficial visit to Iona two weeks ago. All of the schools are going to come in and see him work out this fall.

"I'll probably commit before my season starts," said Atkins.
Two schools on his list have separated themselves entering the fall.
"I like Seton Hall and Iona," said Atkins.
Atkins will have a busy schedule with Coach Gary DeCesare's Ravens this winter. The team will take trips to Florida, Myrtle Beach, and Springfield, Massachusetts, for Tournaments.
Tariq has showed more consistency shooting the three this summer. He's a guy who plays hard all the time and pitches in on the glass. Atkins is more comfortable catching and shooting from the perimeter. He and Syracuse pledge Louie McCroskey complement each other nicely with their inside-outside capabilities.
Atkins told RivalsHoops.com that he carries a 2.8 GPA in the classroom. He still needs to get a qualifying SAT score, and will take the test again in October.
