Arkansas shooting guard getting looks

Three-star 2007 prospect Nate Rakestraw from Springdale Har-ber (Ark.) High School has two important qualities for a wing prospect. One, he has size at 6-foot-4, 212-pounds. Second, he has a very good feel for scoring the ball. Both mid-major and high-major coaches are tracking his progress over the next year.
"I'm hearing from Missouri State, Stanford, TCU, Oral Roberts and Arkansas-Little Rock," said Rakestraw. "Out of those schools, Stanford is probably my favorite. It's a great academic school and a big school."

There is a school, however, close to Rakestraw that he would love to see recruit him harder.
"Arkansas is a school that I would be very interested in," he said. "I've always wanted to play there. It is a big school near my home. It would be great for my family and friends.
"I play ball up there a lot, and they have said that they want to see how I play this season and this summer."
Har-ber is off to a slow start this season at 3-4. They have a big game this weekend at Bud Walton Arena versus Aldine High School out of Houston, Texas. The game will feature a match up between two of the better big men in the class of 2007 in Aldine's Gary Johnson and Har-ber's Michael Sanchez.
When it comes to improving his individual game, Rakestraw, who is a very good shooter of the basketball, has identified a couple areas for improvement.
"I'd like to continue to improve on my pull up jumper," he said. "My defense could also get better. It has gotten better, but it would help if I improved my foot speed some more."
On the season, Rakestraw is averaging 18 points per game.
