Arkansas lands important 2018 target

There is surely some excitement in the Arkansas Basketball office today. Mike Anderson and the Hogs landed one of the most impressive summer performers from the class of 2018.

Wednesday afternoon, four-star power forward Reggie Perry announced via his Twitter account that he has committed to Arkansas.

Currently ranked No. 73 in the class of 2018, the 6-foot-8 product of Thomasville (Ga.) High is in line for a big move in the rankings when they get updated at the end of the month. He is a physically gifted rebounder, can get to the rim off the dribble and shows great signs as a mid range jump shooter. He also competes on both ends of the floor.

In his announcement, Perry's reasoning for picking Arkansas was made pretty obvious.

"Some will ask, "Don't you want to wait for a Kentucky or a Kansas or a Duke to call you," wrote Perry. "I say, the University of Arkansas is my Kentucky, Kansas or Duke."

Perry is the second pledge for Arkansas in the class of 2018. He joins sharp shooting three-star guard Isaiah Joe (a summer teammate on the Arkansas Hawks) as an early commitment.
