Arkansas lands four-star point guard

Going into his visit to Arkansas last weekend, Courtney Fortson had no idea where he wanted to go to school. But after his visit, he knew exactly where he wanted to go to school.
"I was up in the air going into the visit," said Fortson, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound point guard attending the Patterson (N.C.) School. "The visit blew my mind, though. They have great fans and everyone was so nice. It's a great situation at Arkansas."

Fortson, who is from Montgomery, Alabama and also won the state's Mr. Basketball award last season, also spoke highly of the Arkansas coaching staff.
"The coaching staff is really trustworthy," he said. "Coach Pelphrey is down to earth and a very hard worker. You know how I like to work, so I'm looking forward to being coached by him. Hopefully, I'll get to the next level off his coaching."
Fortson, who rose up the rankings with his strong and competitive play during the travel season, is the No. 61 ranked prospect in the Rivals150.
Courtney Fortson scouting report:
Undersized but a dynamic player, Fortson is an excellent competitor who defends and rebounds. Offensively, the lefty is fast with the ball and can finish at the rim. He shoots it well off the dribble, but does have room to improve the consistency of his outside jumper.
