Arizona takes over top spot in team rankings

With the recent flurry of high profile commitments -- and in some cases de-commitments -- it's time to take another look at our team recruiting rankings for the class of 2012. The change starts at the top as Sean Miller and Arizona have dislodged Tom Crean and Indiana.

Five-star center Kaleb Tarczewski's decision to attend Arizona over Kansas -- who checks in at No. 22 in the latest list -- has allowed the Wildcats to climb up from their previous position at No. 4. Along with the seven-foot Tarczewski, the Wildcats recruiting class is bolstered by five-star forward Brandon Ashley and top 50 prospects Gabe York and Grant Jerrett.
Also making major moves were a pair of programs from the state of North Carolina. Both Mark Gottfried's N.C. State and Roy Williams' North Carolina have catapulted into the top five of the team rankings. N.C. State's move can be attributed to its landing of a second five-star commitment in T.J. Warren. Meanwhile, the addition of top 50 player and four-star prospect Brice Johnson gives the Tar Heels a very balanced group even if it doesn't feature the five-star types that Carolina fans have grown accustomed to.
Another program making a nice move up the list is Texas. The addition of four-star center Prince Ibeh and three-star combo forward Ioannis Papapetrou allows the Longhorns to move up to the sixth position overall from their previous spot at No. 10.
The final major mover of the list is Kentucky. John Calipari made a big move to go into the state of Kansas and pull seven-footer Willie Cauley and the addition of the four-star big man enabled the Wildcats to move all the way up to tenth place from their previous spot in the 25th position.
The lone newcomer to the top 25 is Syracuse. The addition of homegrown -- and highly rated four-star -- big man Dajuan Coleman to a class that already included four-star forward Jerami Grant allowed Jim Boeheim's Orange to come from outside of the rankings and settle in at No. 12 nationally.
