Arizona lands five-star big man

Arizona coach Sean Miller and staff have their recruiting mojo turned all the way up.
After landing a top-five class in 2011, the Wildcats seem well on their way to another highly rated class in 2012.

Long considered the heavy favorites to land five-star big man Brandon Ashley, Arizona finalized the deal on Monday after hosting him on campus Sunday.
"He committed minutes ago," said Findlay Prep assistant Todd Simon. "He is excited about their incoming class as well as the cast they have assembled."
A long and lean 6-foot-8 Californian who is spending his senior year at Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep, Ashley is just the latest in a line of high-level prospects to head to Tucson.
Athletic and quick around the rim, Ashley used added strength this summer to become an even more dominant rebounder and finisher. At the same time, he improved his skills facing the rim to become a more versatile scorer.
"His skill set allows him to be versatile and play multiple positions," Simon said. "His competitiveness and drive will get him where he wants to be."
Currently ranked No. 13 in the 2012 Rivals150, Ashley joins a class that already includes four-stars Gabe York and Grant Jerrett who rank Nos. 31 and 50, respectively.
