Arizona adds 2016 five-star

It would have been easy for five-star junior T.J. Leaf to take his time with his recruitment. Instead, the power forward ended it quickly becoming the latest West Coast star to pick Arizona.

A 6-foot-10 forward at El Cajon (Calif.) Foothills Christian who ranks No. 17 in the class of 2016, Leaf gave Sean Miller and his staff the word on Wednesday afternoon.
The program director for Leaf's summer program the Compton Magic, Etop Udo Ema confirmed the commitment.
"Sean Miller and Joe Pasternack did an unbelievable of recruiting T.J. and his family," Udo Ema told Rivals.com.
Highly skilled, Leaf is a bit different than the ultra athletic Derrick Williams, Aaron Gordon type bigs that the Wildcats have been recruiting. He can play on the interior and is certainly plenty athletic, but Leaf is a lights out shooter from deep with a big body to build on moving forward.
"Leaf is a versatile and athletic wing forward who continues to get better and better," said Udo Ema. "He's going to be an immediate impact player at Arizona."
The addition of Leaf looks to be a case of business as usual for Miller during his stay in Tucson. Although Leaf is the first player to join the Wildcats from the class of 2016, he is the 12th five-star to pick them since 2011 and he is also on the heels of an Arizona class that currently ranks No. 1 in 2015.
