Ariza Has 6 On List

Trevor Ariza's recruitment is progressing along this fall, but not as quickly as some of his counterparts in the Class of 2003.
The quick and mobile 6-8, 200 pound combination forward from Westchester H.S. in Los Angeles, Calif., told Rivalshoops.com on late Sunday night that he is still considering six colleges.

On top of that, he's only set three fall official visits thus far. Last weekend (Sept. 6-8), he went to UNLV. And this upcoming weekend (Sept. 20-22), he's set for Indiana. He will visit Florida for the Gators' midnight madness festivities the weekend of Oct. 12.
Georgia, Southern California, and UCLA round out the six finalists. Ariza said he may officially visit Georgia and UCLA as well, but no dates have been set for either school.
When Rivalshoops.com caught up with Ariza a few weeks back, he said he wasn't sure if he would make it to UNLV the weekend of Sept. 7. However, he wound up going through with the visit as scheduled.
"My UNLV visit was cool," Ariza said. "I learned that the coaches are pretty cool and the players are, too. Me and Demetrius Hunter hit it off really well."
Now Ariza is looking forward to his Indiana trip.
"I have a couple of friends up there like Bracey Wright," he said. "And I like Mike Davis a lot."
Ariza had an in-home visit last night (Sept. 15) with UNLV, and Georgia and Florida are slated to visit with Ariza during the next week or so.
At one time during the recruiting process, UCLA seemed to be playing catch up in its pursuit of Ariza. But the recent departure of freshman Evan Burns [now at San Diego State], who is a similar type player to Ariza, may have given the Bruins a boost.
"It helps them, because now they have more scholarships open and it's home, it's close," Ariza said. "So that's a plus for them."
Ariza plans on making a fall decision and signing in November, and we will keep you posted on his future plans.
