Area high-majors on McIntosh

It takes more than one top player to lead a team to a No. 3 ranking in the city of Chicago, and 2006 prospect Deangelo McIntosh is one of the key components for 20-2 Julian High School. A freakish athlete, McIntosh, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard, has the high-majors in the area tracking his progress.
"DePaul, Marquette and Illinois really like him," said Julian head coach Loren Jackson. "A lot of others are showing interest as well.

"Deangelo is simply a freak athlete, like the Matrix. He has a 7-foot plus wingspan. With his length he can defend multiple positions. He's a very versatile player."
McIntosh is working hard each day at Julian's 6 AM practices to improve the consistency of his jump shot. Coach Jackson is happy about the progress that McIntosh is making with his jumper, but it is his ability to finish in transition that is McIntosh's special gift.
"His shot is becoming more consistent, but he is awesone in transition," said Jackson. "Deangelo has tremendous upside. He just needs to keep improving his shot. His ball handling is good, but it needs to become great."
For the season, McIntosh is averaging 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
