Archie Will Stay Instate

After venturing outside his home state to play his freshman year of college ball, 6-6 Kishwaukee C.C. power forward Keith Archie has opted to sign a national letter of intent with Western Illinois.
Rivalshoops.com spoke with Kishwaukee Head Coach Ralph Schuetzle on Wednesday night, and he confirmed Archie's signing with the Leathernecks.

Archie was one of the better performers at the recent Illinois Valley Jamboree in Oglesby, Ill., that Rivalshoops.com attended. He is a rugged and athletic power forward who can finish quite proficiently in the low post.
Archie transferred into Kishwaukee, which is located in Malta, Ill., after spending his freshman year at Marshall University of the Mid American Conference.
Wisconsin Green Bay, Eastern Illinois, Wright State and Idaho were just some of the other schools who expressed an interest in Archie this fall.
"Western decided if that Keith waited until the spring to sign, that he would probably go to a higher level," Schuetzle said. "That's why they offered him in the fall."
Archie took an unofficial visit to Western Illinois recently, where he was accompanied by his parents. He had the chance to take in an exhibition game while on his trip.
"They are losing two senior post players who are their leading scorers," Schuetzle said. "Keith feels that he can go in there and step in and be kind of a go to guy."
