Anthony Jones emerging 2008 prospect

Once a sleeping giant, Anthony Jones is sleeping no more, and high-major programs are becoming aware of his long term potential. The 6-foot-9, 185-pound combo forward from Yates high School in Houston presently has four offers and expect that number only to grow.
Being recruited primarily as a small forward, Jones has offers from Arizona, Texas, Texas A&M and Baylor. He also noted that Tennessee recently began to aggressively pursue him

Jones, who is coming off a positive experience at the Texas Elite Camp, has Texas as his early favorite.
"The camp was a good experience to get me ready for Big 12 basketball if that is the conference I play in," said Jones. "I really like Texas because it is close to home, and I like the environment."
Although Texas is his top school, Jones does have another school that he has always liked but is presently not recruiting him.
"I love the tradition of North Carolina and all the players that have gone there," he said. "I just really like the school."
Jones will next be in action at the Nike Hoop Jamboree in St. Louis beginning Wednesday of this week.
Anthony Jones scouting report:
Both long and skilled, Jones is a versatile forward with NBA potential. He is playing stronger around the basket where he alters shots and has the hands to snatch rebounds. He also moves his feet well away from the basket and possesses perimeter offensive skills. He just needs to continue to develop strength to play with more aggression.
