Another Trip For Scoring Guard

Sammy Mejia, a versatile 6-5, 190-pound swingman/shooting guard from Storm King Prep in Bear Mountain, New York, told us that he remains committed to DePaul. However, while he is in the state of Florida for vacation, he will stop by South Florida for an unofficial visit.
"I am still committed to DePaul," Mejia said. "But since I am down there I will probably take a look at South Florida. I am committed to DePaul though."

Mejia cemented his status as a top 75 national talent with his performance at the ABCD Camp as well as this past weekend at the Three Stripes Classic. Mejia showed college coaches that he is an able ballhandler who is capable of running the point as a scoring guard, or playing off the ball. Sammy is capable of taking smaller guards off the dribble, and is a solid athlete with good body control. He needs to hit the weights to compete at the next level.
Mejia had been offered by Miami, Seton Hall, DePaul, South Florida, and Hofstra.
Mejia had already taken unofficial visits to Syracuse and Hofstra. Mejia has already achieved a qualifying SAT score of 820. He has maintained a GPA of 3.6 at Storm King Prep, which has raised his cumulative average between Storm King and Roosevelt High School in the Bronx to 2.2, he told us.
