Andreas Gahlmann Chooses A School

Andreas Gahlmann, a 6-9, 230 pound center from Fullerton J.C. in Fullerton, Calif., committed to Portland, according to the coaching staff at Fullerton JC. Gahlmann is a freshman qualifier who could leave the junior college ranks after one year. This would mean the 20-year-old will have three years of eligibility at Portland.
A native of Switzerland, Gahlmann posted an 1140 SAT score, according to Fullerton Head Coach Dieter Horton. As long as Gahlmann maintains a 2.0 GPA and earns 24 transferable credit hours, he will be able to enroll at a Division I school next fall.

Gahlmann showed some positive things at the 2001 Southern California Fall JUCO Shootout. While he is not quick or athletic, the left-handed Gahlmann has a big frame, very good hands and can step out to the perimeter and shoot it.
Unlike some European post players, Gahlmann is willing to mix it up in the paint and play a physical style, although he is not a great offensive rebounder at this juncture.
Horton told JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com that Northern Arizona and San Diego had expressed serious interest in Gahlmann.
You can be sure that Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on how Gahlmann performs this season.
