Anderson: extremely promising prospect

It's not often that Rivals.com takes in a 15-under game, but the 15-under division at the Real Deal on the Hill did get some run at Bud Walton Arena, and it wasn't tough to miss 6-foot-11, 235-pound freshman center Evan Anderson of the Wisconsin Playground Warriors.
With a 7-foot-5 wingspan and size 19 shoes, Anderson is likely still growing at the young age of 15.

"Evan's best days are ahead of him," said Ritchie Davis the new director of the Wisconsin Playground Warriors. "He just turned 15 and he has gotten a lot better just here lately.
"His stock has really soared since the Real Deal. The Midwest schools are all over him, and now we are hearing from other schools. Both Virginia and Washington State have now called. Purdue and Iowa State have called a couple times since the tournament. Of course Wisconsin and Marquette are all over him. Before we could fly out of Fayetteville, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and even Portland called to offer scholarships. I don't want to be rude, but at the rate Evan is going, there's not much chance he'll be going to those schools."
Most impressive about Anderson's play was his fundamental approach in the low post. Anderson repeatedly sealed his man deep in the post and finished jump hooks with either hand.
"Evan does know how to establish deep position and has a nice baby hook going either direction," said Coach Davis. "The main thing for him right now is to improve his stamina."
Anderson will compete in Pittsburgh and Akron, Ohio the next two weekends, and then will likely play in the 17-under division in May at the Cactus Classic in Tucson, Ariz.
