American lands Texas forward

Originally, Kyle Kager had planned on taking at least a few official visits before making a decision. But, after an unofficial visit to American University, the Texas native has decided to commit and is now off of the board.
The 6-foot-7 forward who is attending prep school at Deerfield (Mass.) Prep chimed in with the news upon completion of his visit.

"Today I decided to commit to American," Kager told Rivals.com. "I wanted to sign early in November and I couldn't ask for a better fit and better program. It worked out really well.
A versatile player who can face up the basket to make jumpers or play on the interior, Kager was taken with the campus environment.
"I flew out yesterday to DC. I was with my dad and we went to American University because that was one of the schools in my top three," said Kager. "After visiting the campus and seeing the entire campus, it's really a special place. They have great coaches and have a great training program. They also went over the academic side of things and what their schedule would look like and what area I want to major in. It was just an outstanding visit"
"They played a good schedule last year and play Maryland, Florida and West Virginia this upcoming season. They're going to be playing against big time schools and they have a great academic foundation."
According to Kager, he had planned on also visiting Bradley and Providence officially but now he'll only need to return to American for an official visit.
