AM lands four-star wing

The signs were there that D.J. Hogg was nearing the end of his recruitment. Shortly upon returning home from Texas A&M the four-star swingman decided to go ahead and get things over with.
Sunday night, the 6-foot-7 small forward from Plano (Texas) West gave a verbal commitment to Billy Kennedy and the Aggies after a strong official visit.

"This weekend we had a good time and talked to the coaches a lot and it seemed like the right fit," Hogg told Rivals.com. "I like the staff, my parents liked the school and it felt like it was the right thing to do."
One of the nation's premier jump shooters, Hogg can put up points in a hurry. Ranked No. 32 nationally in the 2015 Rivals150, Hogg will be headed to a program that is filled with familiar faces. Aggies freshmen Alex Robinson and Avery Johnson Jr. and fellow 2015 commitment Tyler Davis all played together for the Texas Titans summer program.
Hogg said that familiarity was helpful.
"Me and Tyler have always wanted to play together so that helped," said Hogg. "With Avery and Alex there there we already have some chemistry and it makes it a lot easier. There are less players to get familiar with and I think that we all fit well."
While he is known primarily for his outside shooting, Hogg has a pretty well developed offensive game. He can post up, he has a dangerous mid range game and he has become much more dangerous attacking off the dribble. Because of his versatility he can play all over the floor for the Aggies.
"I think I bring scoring and the ability to shoot and stretch the defense," said Hogg. "I'm a team player and not selfish at all. They'll use me as three at the two and then some at the four if we go small."
Hogg and Davis -- a 6-foot-10 center who ranks No. 27 nationally -- have gotten the Aggies 2015 recruiting class off to a great start.
