Allen Gives Up Football

Andre Allen, the No. 32 ranked player in the Southeast 34, has decided to give up football after watching two of his teammates go down with injuries. The 5-foot-8, 170-pound point guard for Booker T. Washington in Memphis, Tennessee was making an impact at wide receiver before hanging up his cleats.
“Last week was the end of football for me,” Allen said. “I am focusing on basketball now. Our backup point guard tore his ACL playing quarterback, and our starting center dislocated his ankle.”

Allen has settled on four schools in Indiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Houston. He has already visited Houston, and now it will be much easier for him to visit the other three schools that he is no longer playing football.
Just recently he picked up a scholarship offer from Arkansas, the last of the four to extend an offer.
