Allan Ray: One Of The Best Scorers In 2002

Allan Ray is making a good case on why he should be selected for next Spring's McDonald's All American game. It would be a dream come true for Ray, who is a 6-0 combo guard from St. Raymond's High School in the Bronx, New York.
Every New York City basketball player dreams of playing in Madison Square Garden, the place where the McDonald's game is being played in March of 2002.

Ray is one of the best scorers in the class of 2002. He can rope a defense with long range bombs from either side of the court and then bounce down court and top off a fastbreak with a thundering dunk.
Ray really was one of the main reasons why St. Raymond's won the New York City CHSAA title last spring. He was very consistent with his game. "I am always trying to work to be consistent," Ray told us this past weekend in Boston. "I want to have a good game everytime I play. It's a goal everyone should have."
Most have it but few are able to succeed in reaching it. Ray has been more successful than most. It's because of these reasons why Villanova coach Jay Wright and Memphis coach John Calipari have been working Ray hard. "Memphis and Villanova have recruited me the hardest," Ray said. "But I am also looking at other schools."
The schools Ray is talking about are Miami, North Carolina State, and Seton Hall. NC State certainly will have a shot at Ray since his friend, Julius Hodge, is on this season's Wolfpack roster.
"I don't have a leader right now," Ray said. "But I want to make a Fall decision."
