All Tourney Weekend Opens Eyes

FT. WAYNE, Ind. -- Stanley Burrell, an athletic 6-2, 185 pound combo guard from Ben Davis H.S. in Indianapolis, Ind., recently made the all-tournament team at the Spiece Run N Slam All-Star Classic.
Burrell helped the Spiece Central squad reach the semifinals of the prestigious 48-team 17 and under division.

An athletic guard who is a proficient slasher and scoring threat, Burrell is still honing his point guard instincts this spring.
He told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that Butler is seriously interested in him this spring and is prepared to offer a scholarship pending a review of his transcript.
In addition to the Bulldog program, Burrell also lists Ball State, Southern Illinois, Western Michigan and Xavier as potential college destinations.
This past season at Ben Davis, Burrell played behind IUPUI bound Brandon Cole, and as a result, he said his stats were modest. He averaged seven points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals per contest.
"I rebound well for a guard and I play good on the ball defense," Burrell explained. "I need to work on my three point shot and my left hand."
Burrell said he has a 2.5 GPA and will take the ACT for the first time in June.
He has a busy slate of summer events planned, including pit stops at the AAU Nationals, the AAU Super Showcase and a session of the Five-Star Pittsburgh camp.
