All Set For Pac-10

Lamar Hurd, a 6-4, 175 pound point guard from Heritage Christian H.S. in Cleveland, Tex., has signed a national letter of intent with Oregon State.
The Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com has confirmed this signing with Heritage Christian Head Coach Jerome Tang.

Hurd visited Arkansas and Oregon State this spring. Northwestern and Houston also expressed interest in him during the school year.
"He really liked the coaches and the players when he got out there," Tang said. "He just felt really at ease when he went there. He had great visits everywhere else, that was just the one place it seemed that clicked to him."
Hurd averaged 9.7 points, 10.1 assists and 8.6 rebounds for Heritage Christian this past season. He attracted the attention of many coaches in December at the Nike/Academy National Tournament in Houston.
"Coach [Jay] John really sees in Lamar what his mom and I see in Lamar -- that he has the potential to be a tremendous college player," Tang said. "What he is going to do is hand him the basketball for the next for years and say 'Son, for the next four years, this is your team.'"
"So as long as Lamar takes care of his end of it by preparing himself to be ready to go next year, he will be fine," Tang continued. "Coach John had a tremendous impact on this whole thing."
