All Hallows Speeds Past St. Dominic

BRONX, NEW YORK -- It was apparent from the opening tap that St. Dominic was going to have to deal with the quickness of the All Hallows backcourt. It became apparent right away that Tim Doyle alone could not beat All Hallows too.
The quickness of guards Ronald Ramon, Marvin McCullough, and Bobby Santiago helped All Hallows beat up St. Dominic, 53-39, in the opening game of the Diane Brennen Invitational held on the campus of Fordham University.

Ramon had 19 points to lead all scorers. He also had two three-pointers to pace All Hallows, which recently was stung by St. Raymond's.
Helping Ramon out were Santiago's nine points and McCullough's eight points.
All Hallows also got a fine effort inside from big man Kiril Wachsmann, who looks like a nice pickup for Iona.
Doyle was the only player from St. Dominic to score in double figures. He had 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Tim fouled out with 5:24 left in the game. Doyle, who is headed to St. John's next season, was watched by Mike Jarvis, Jr.
What hurt St. Dominic also was the tough full-court zone press that All Hallows installed from the opening tap. It appeared that St. Dominic could not find any flow to the game against this zone trap.
All Hallows led 10-7 after the first quarter, 31-17 at the half, 38-28 after three quarters, and finished off St. Dominic by 14 points. Doyle picked up his third foul right before the first half expired.
During the second quarter, guard Alex Patsos fell arkwardly and appeared to have struck his head. A delay of about 30-40 minutes kept both teams on their benches and waiting for emergency service to arrive. Patsos was carried off on a stretcher and was taken to a local hospital. We hope to have more details later on this site.
