Alfred Williams Has Major Interest

Alfred Williams, an explosive 6-4, 165 pound wing from Dixie State J.C. in St. George, Ut., has a number of mid-high Division I programs showing interest in him this summer.
According to Dixie Head Coach Jeff Kidder, Southern California, Long Beach State, and Arizona State are three programs that have called the Rebel basketball office to express an interest in Williams.

"Those schools have all made early inquiries," Kidder said. "Everybody is going to watch him this year and gauge what kind of level they think he ought to be at."
Kidder expects Williams to sign late.
Williams is a tremendous open court player with explosive leaping ability. He's always a threat around the basket, where he often snatches alley-oop passes out of the air and converts them for high percentage baskets.
As a freshman on the Rebels' third place NJCAA finisher this past season, Williams averaged 8.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists. He shot 50 percent from the field and about 32 percent from beyond the arc.
If Williams can continue to improve his three point stroke and work on his perimeter stroke off the dribble, he could become a hot recruiting priority this winter for many programs.
Williams is a native of Bakersfield, Calif.
