Aldridge Changes Mind -- Decides Today

Seagoville, Texas native LaMarcus Aldridge only told Tim Watts of RivalsHoops.com 48 hours ago that he was going to wait to the Spring before deciding. However, the temptation of playing for one of the "hot" programs in the country was too much to pass up. Aldridge verballed today to Rick Barnes and the Texas basketball program.
Aldridge was participating in this weekend’s 9th Annual Kingwood Classic in Houston, Texas. The 6-foot-10, 220-pound center is long and athletic and and chose Texas over Oklahoma, Florida and North Carolina.

Texas was the team to beat in recent months. The Heels were very strong last summer. In fact, Aldridge told RivalsHoops.com last summer that UNC was his top choice. But Texas did a tremendous job over the past several months and have landed another quality in-state player.
But, Texas will likely have to worry about the money of the NBA tempting Aldridge in the Spring. Aldridge told RivalsHoops.com: “I don’t plan to commit early. There’s a chance I can improve my game and project to the NBA draft,” he said. “My top goal is to play in the NBA. I don’t mind going to college but if I can make the jump, I probably would.”
