Cole Aldrich, the 6-foot-10, 235-pound power forward from Bloomington (MN) Jefferson High School is ready to make a decision about his future. After taking unofficial visits to Kansas and Minnesota, the No. 9 ranked player in the class of 2007 will announce his decision this week.
"Cole is going to announce his decision on Wednesday or Thursday," said Mr. Aldrich. "He has some studying to do at the beginning of this week, so he wants to focus on that before he makes any announcement.
"I don't really know how Cole is going to handle the announcement," he added. "We have never done anything like this before. I don't know if he will have a press conference or not. I do know that Cole has already made a decision on what school he is going to attend, but he is not going to announce that decision until Wednesday or Thursday."
Aldrich, the five-star prospect from Minnesota, has scholarship offers from Kansas, North Carolina and Minnesota. However, after taking several unofficial visits to Kansas and Minnesota, it's likely that he will decide between the Jayhawks and Golden Gophers.
There was a time when it looked like Aldrich would take several official visits before making a decision about his future, but it appears those plans have changed.
Aldrich clearly established himself as one of the truly elite players in the class of 2007 during the spirng and summer AAU circuit.
