Albrecht: Had Solid Numbers

Justin Albrecht, a 6-6, 210 pound combination forward from Iowa Western C.C. in Council Bluffs, Ia., put up solid numbers as a sophomore for the Reivers.
Albrecht, who signed with Tennessee in the fall, averaged 13.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. He shot 48.2 percent from the field and roughly 32 percent from beyond the arc.

A native of Omaha, Neb., Albrecht wasn't heavily recruited until last fall, when many programs came in to look at his teammate, Jeff Graves.
But the Tennessee staff was impressed with what it saw in Albrecht, and offered a scholarship. After a visit to Knoxville, Albrecht spurned overtures from UNC-Wilmington and many other top notch mid-majors to ink with the Vols in November.
"He does a lot of things that aren't reflected in the statistics," Iowa Western Head Coach Jim Morris said. "He takes charges, dives for loose balls and passes well -- he's just a blue-collar worker."
Albrecht helped the Reivers finish 22-9 this past season, and with the departures of forwards Vincent Yarbrough and Marcus Haislip, he will likely be counted on for quality minutes in the Volunteer lineup next winter.
