Alasssane Kouyate Has Top Two

Alassane Kouyate, a 6-8, 218 pound combo/power forward from Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, said he has two schools that lead, Duquesne and UMass.
"I visited both schools along with East Carolina and Marshall," Kouyate said. "If I make an early decision, which I think is what I'll do, it will be between Massachusetts and Duquesne."

Kansas State, Miami (FL) and Florida State are also on this big forward's list. He visited Duquesne over the October 12th weekend and went to Amherst, MA, two weeks later. All of the schools involved have offered a scholarship.
Kouyate, who lives with his guardians in Medina, OH, came to the U.S. three years ago. He attended Highland H.S. in Medina before transferring to Walsh Jesuit last year.
He handles the center slot for Walsh but said he expects to play either the power or small forward in college. "I'll probably spend more time at power forward. Right now I'm working on my permiter shooting and ball handling," he said. "My three point shooting is much better this year."
Kouyate is a native of Bamako, Mali, the capital of the Western African nation. He currently has 3.0 GPA and achieved a score of 890 the first time he took the SAT.
He said that he will major in business administration with special emphasis on marketing.
