Al Riley Has Early Major Interest
Al Riley, a 6-3, 185 pound shooting guard from Compton C.C. in Compton, Calif., is one of the better offensive players in the California JUCO ranks.
At the recent Modesto J.C. Basketball Tournament, Riley helped Compton to an exciting semifinal round victory over Cerritos College. Although he has just an average handle, Riley is an exceptionally streaky shooter who can carry a team offensively when he is on.

According to Compton Head Coach Damaine Powell, Auburn, Eastern Kentucky and Fresno State have expressed an early interest in Riley, who hails from Jacksonville, Fla.
Riley began his junior college career two years ago at Fresno City College in Fresno, Calif., but sat out last year in order to focus on his academics. According to Powell, Riley is now in good shape academically.
That is critical, since Riley will have to graduate by the summer if he wishes to attend a Division I school in the fall.
