Agudio Talks About Hofstra Decision

Antoine Agudio, a 6'2'' 180 pound combo guard/shooting guard from Walt Whitman High School in South Huntington, New York, spoke with Rivalshoops.com about his recent commitment to Hofstra on Saturday night after helping lead his team to the New York Class "A" semifinals with a 48-34 win over Uniondale at Stony Brook University.
Agudio chipped in 13 points and showed off his savvy with a couple of crafty passes to teammates for buckets. While Uniondale wouldn't let Antoine get many looks from the perimeter on this night, he showed an ability to get in the lane and beat defenders off the dribble.

Agudio's game has become increasingly well-rounded. While his shooting ability was never really in question, he is also capable slashing to the hoop and is an able passer.
Agudio will have to get stronger to withstand the banging at the next level.
Regarding his college choice, Agudio gave Rivalshoops.com an answer that might surprise you.
"I chose Hofstra because they offered me a guaranteed education," said Agudio. "That's why I picked them. They were the only school that called me every week and showed me that they were concerned, and asked me how I was doing in school."
Agudio had previously elicited interest from schools like Kent State, Providence, Iona, Rider and Marist.
Antoine still needs to fulfill his academic requirements to be eligible for the fall. He is taking the SAT this spring.
If Agudio does not qualify, he will go to prep school. Either way, he will likely end up at Hofstra.
Antoine is a great kid with a terrific future in basketball. We wish him the best on his decision.
